These elements are called alloy elements because it is mixed together to form an alloy. And these elements are added to improve the properties of steel.

The Alloy steel round tube is measured firstly by taking the outside diameter and then the wall thickness. Alloy steel round tube has alloying elements added to it such as nickel and manganese, which improves the hardness, strength, and toughness of the material which makes it ideal for highly demanding industrial applications.

What is IBR approved alloy steel boiler tube?

IBR is Indian Boiler Regulations, which was created on 15th September 1950 in the exercise of the powers conferred by section 28 & 29 of the Indian Boilers Act. The Indian Boilers Act was formed in 1923, 23rd February to consolidate and amend the law relating to steam boilers.

Alloy steel seamless tube v/s welded tube

The difference in the basic manufacturing method is obvious from the names. Alloy Seamless tube is extruded and drawn from a billet while alloy welded tube is produced from a strip that is roll formed and welded to produce an alloy welded tube. Alloy welded tube is considerably less expensive than alloy seamless tube and is readily available in long continuous lengths. Alloy Steel Seamless Tubes for at least 15 minutes should be annealed at 2150 Degree F / 2250 Degree F, which should be further, followed by air cool or water quench depending on section size.  Alloy Steel Welded Tubes is normally supplied in the solution treated condition, following treatment at 2150 Degree F and rapid cooling.
