en8 has highertensile strength and comparatively ms material has low tensile strength. EN 8 material is applicable for high strength and MS material is not applicable for high strength. EN 8 materials is more expensive than ms material. EN 8 material can use insteadof MS material but MS material cannot use insteadof EN 8 material
EN8 is through-hardened medium carbon steel. It used to manufacture parts such as axles, shafts, gears, studs, bolts etc, and can be easily machinable.EN8D has enhanced wear resistance and it’s a carbon steel. It is a surface-hardened version of EN8 by induction processes. It is useful in general engineer and automobile components.
EN9 is better, compared to EN-8, for Low Wear rate in rotating parts.EN8 is an unalloyed medium carbon steel grade with rational tensile strength. 080M40 is also known as EN8 engineering steel, it is an unalloyed medium carbon steel. It is a medium strength steel with good tensile strength and is available as normalised or rolled. It is a very popular grade of through-hardening medium carbon steel, which can be readily machinable in any condition
