
EN 10084 Carbon Steel Tube
EN 10084 Carbon Steel Tube cover steels with high nickel and chromium content in the low carbon alloy groups. It provides good corrosion resistance. It is made up of a case hardening steel with good hardness and good toughness.
16mncr5 en 10084 is European standard carburized steel with good hardenability and machinability. For large cross-section parts, wear resistance and high surface hardness can be obtained after heat treatment, and low-temperature impact toughness can also get high.
din en 10084 is an alloyed case hardening steel used for e.g. mechanical engineering components. In order to optimize the machinability it can be M-treated. It has satisfactory weldability, there is a possibility of cracks forming a long welds. It has high strength of 550MPa minimum tensile strength and 420MPa minimum yield strength. It has less carbon with relatively high manganese which makes it better for forming. It can be welded with filler materials and preheating.In order to avoid welding cracks post weld heat treatment can be done. It is cost effective and can be used in high corrosive and high heat applications
bs en 10084 are generally used after carburizing and quenching, and is mainly used for manufacturing gears, worms, sealing bushings and other components.
en 10084 steel is used for surface hardening when grouting, nitrocarburising, nitriding and for other types of surface chemical-thermal treatment. It is used to make gears,shafts, axles, gear wheels, levers, and boltsand other machine-building and transport components.
