Carbon steel flanges are forged pipe-connection components made mainly to ASTM A105 or ASTM A350 LF2 , manufactured to ASME B16.5 / B16.47 dimensions in Class 150 through 2500. They join pipe, valves and equipment in weld neck, slip-on, blind, socket weld, threaded, lap joint and spectacle configurations, and are the default flange choice for oil & gas, water, power and general process piping wherever exotic corrosion resistance isn’t required.

Standard forged grade, ambient to moderate temperature
Impact-tested, low-temperature service to -46°C
High-yield grade for large-diameter, high-pressure lines
General purpose, lower design margin
A105 fits general piping; A350 LF2 handles low-temperature service, resisting brittleness in cold shutdowns. Being a carbon steel flanges manufacturer in India, quality control never gets skipped.

Almost every flange in pressure piping is forged – forging aligns the grain with the shape, casting doesn't.
Cast only earns its place on low-pressure, non-critical drainage lines – forged is the default for oil, gas, chemical and power service.
Two separate rulebooks – one for shape and size, one for what the steel itself has to meet.

Match the duty on the left, get the grade and code on the right.
ASTM A105 is the standard forged carbon steel flange grade for ambient and moderate temperature service. ASTM A350 LF2 is used where impact-tested, low-temperature service down to -46°C is required.
Carbon steel flanges fall under HSN 7307, sub-heading 730719 for other non-alloy steel fittings, attracting 18% GST in India.
A slip-on flange slides over the pipe end and is fillet welded on both sides to join two lengths of pipe or equipment, while a blind flange has no bore at all and is used to seal off the end of a pipe, valve or vessel opening.
Carbon steel flanges are supplied in ASME B16.5 pressure Class 150, 300, 400, 600, 900, 1500 and 2500
Standard testing includes dimensional inspection, hardness testing, ultrasonic testing, positive material identification and a mill test certificate as per EN 10204 3.1 or 3.2, with third-party inspection (SGS, Bureau Veritas, TUV, Lloyd's) available on request.
