STKM13C Manufacturing process

Forging of STKM13C is done typically at the temperature range i.e. between 2012⁰F – 2192⁰F, while in the process it is heated at this temperature to make it moldable and then it is shaped in desired shape under high pressure. Complete control of temperature is important so as to avoid any damage to the material.

Hot rolling process involves heating STKM13C to high temperature i.e. between 2000⁰F to 2400⁰F. At this temperature the material becomes malleable and this moment it can be easily shaped. Then it is passed through rollers to reduce its thickness to achieve the wanted size for the application.

Cold rolling process gives strength and hardness through stress hardening at the same time maintain smooth surface and finish.

Casting of STKM13C includes melting the material at the temperature range of 2597⁰F and 2804⁰F. This process includes melting the steel in the burner until it arrives at liquid state within the given temperature range. And once it gets fully melted it is poured into moulds to convert it into a desired shape.
