The specified A672 B60 cl.12 EFW Straight Welded pipe is a steel grade which are meant to be used for high pressure applications, at moderate temperature settings. Although a heat treatment could be performed on the ASTM A672 Gr B60 electric fusion welded steel pipe, it may not be required in order to achieve the desired properties. In fact, the heat treatment is not necessary to be performed on the specified ASTM A672 Gr B60 in order to comply with applicable code requirements. An analysis of each mill heat of the material used in the manufacture of this grade ASTM A672 Gr B60 Fusion Welded Pipe needs to be made. Additionally, an analysis of the finished deposited weld material, in this case, the ASTM A672 gr B60 EFW Pipe must be done from each 500 ft or it could be done from the fraction thereof.
The mechanical test requirements for the carbon steel based ASTM A672 Gr B60 pipe includes a single tension test specimen, which in turn will represent each lot of finished pipe. Apart from this test, a transverse guided weld bend test, which requires two specimens is used to represent each lot of finished A672 B60 Electric Fusion Welded Pipe. Also, radiographic examination could be performed on the full length of each A672 gr B60 Welded pipe.
